WHAT MAKES SCEATS MILLINERY DIFFERENT?

All headpieces are designed and created by me. This gives you flexibility, for example having designs made in the colours of your choice for rent or purchase, I understand headpieces can be the most important part of an outfit, especially for occasions like Royal Ascot. You can relax when hiring from me, that when you reserve a headpiece, it will only be you wearing it that season for that particular event. No worrying that a headpiece you are relying on has not been bought back safely from a previous rental. 

  

HOW LONG CAN I RENT A HEADPIECE FOR?

The rental period is usually three days. It begins on the date you pick up the headpiece and ends on the agreed return date. This gives you a day to collect, a day to wear, and a day to return. The return date is set at the time of the rental and cannot be extended without prior arrangement and approval.

HOW MUCH DEPOSIT DO I NEED TO LEAVE?

The deposit is equal and in addition to the rental amount, so at the time of reservation, twice the rental price will be taken, and half will be returned on the safe return of an undamaged headpiece.

HOW DO I LOOK AFTER THE HEADPIECE?

All headpieces must be kept in the hatbox supplied at the time of rental when not being worn. If you are likely to take off the headpiece during the day, such as at a wedding, you should take the hatbox with you for safe storage. Headpieces should not be worn in the rain (even drizzle). Always take an umbrella with you and stay under cover if it is a wet day.

 

CAN I REQUEST A CUSTOM HEADPIECE?

Most of my headpieces can be made in the colour(s) of your choice and made available to rent/purchase. Information on whether or not this is possible can be found when clicked on an individual headpiece on the website. If you make a reservation for a design to be made in a different colour, please allow 3 weeks for me to make it. (Please note the rental fee will not be refunded for cancellations in the case of a headpiece being made in requested colours.) If it is for Royal Ascot, the longer notice the better. If you have a request for a custom headpiece, please contact me.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T WEAR MY HEADPIECE?

Unfortunately, I am unable to offer refunds when headpieces have not been worn, for whatever reason.

CAN I RETURN A HEADPIECE THAT I'VE PURCHASED?

Unfortunately, I do not accept returns for purchased headpieces. For custom orders for purchase, the full cost of the headpiece will need to be paid once the design and price is agreed.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T RETURN MY HEADPIECE IN TIME?

If a headpiece is not returned by the date agreed at the time of rental, a charge of £20 will be issued for every day the headpiece is late.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE APPOINTMENT?

If you are finding a headpiece for a dress you already have, bring it along, together with any accessories eg. handbag and shoes.
